How to Choose a Reliable SEO Company

It would be totally unfair to say that there are no good or effective SEO companies. While there may be cowboys out there, there are certainly those who work hard to give their clients the best results. As long as you know what to look for in an SEO company, you should be able to avoid the fraudsters.

Here are tips to help you find the right provider for you:

> Ask your friends, relatives or business associates for recommendations. These are very important when it comes to a company's credibility.

> Ask for samples of their clients' websites. No one tells it better than an SEO company's past or existing clients. Don't hesitate to ask for client references from your prospective provider. If they say it's confidential, that is one big problem.  Here's a good read about SEO Greenville SC, check it out!

> Check their own PR.  Good PR is over 4-5. If their site isn't well-optimized, yours won't be if you hire them.

> Do they guarantee you'll be number 1? If they do, then that's another very big problem.

> Do they do automated submissions? That will get you banned. Big red flag.

> Just Google them. If they're a scam, you will find plenty of information out there. Still, you have to remember that no negative publicity doesn't always mean they are good.  To gather more awesome ideas on Email Marketing, click here to get started.

> Do they employ black hat SEO? This is dirty SEO, and like automatic submissions, it will get you banned. Absolutely forget them if they use black hat.

> Where do they get their backlinks? Make sure they collect backlinks only from reputable sites.

> Ask them what keywords they rank for. If they don't rank well for their chosen keywords, don't think they'll get your ranked for yours.

> Ask tricky questions. For example, how many search engines do they plan to automatically submit your site to? Scammers will try to impress you with big numbers, but legit providers will say they don't do it. Another tricky question you can is if they will put you in the top 10 for your chosen keywords. If they say yes, run. It's they - not you - who should choose which keywords are best for you.

> Finally, try to get some personal impressions. Meet your prospective provider and get a feel of who they are and their personality. If you hire them, you'll be communicating with them every now and then, and that will be a pain if you don't even like them. Listen to your gut and first impressions. This approach isn't foolproof though - some people have a knack for misleading others - so proceed with caution.
